Funky, stylish, great for lower-arched, wider feet / EJ, NY5/31/2008 Have wanted real Birks for years (despite clunkiness; the earthy comfort can be hippie stylish still in NYC). HSN''s Tatami''s are the first with a low enough arch support to be comfortable; other Birks would dig into my arch area. These patent thongs take only a day or two of breaking in (versus the snakeskin-embossed pair I also bought from HSN). LOVE them, and give a spin on the Roman sandal that''s everywhere these days. Did not find them narrow at all!
Not like original Birkenstock footbed / Laura, OH5/21/2008 To anyone who is a Birkenstock fan and intends to buy these "Tatami" shoes: They are a lot narrower (both forefoot and heel) and have a lower arch support (I compared them side by side with my other shoes). I wear a narrow in most shoes, but with these, both sides of my forefoot literally hang over the edges of the shoe. If it was a covered toe style, I wouldn''t be able to put my foot in them. Until HSN goes back to the "real" Birkenstock footbed, I''ll be shopping elsewhere for mine.
Love these thongs.......... / Riota, MN5/17/2008 Love these shoes...I ordered the yellow ones and they are cute, cute, cute. Put them right on out of the box and no problem. I own a lot of pairs of birkenstock, betula''s and etc and always had to kind of break them in. Not these they are so comfy right away. Just went back and ordered the red, would like the black too but guess they are sold out.
Get these if you can; they are so neat looking on the foot and a conversation piece of a shoe. Really cute with my jeans; I thought.
LOVE TATAMI SHOES!!!!! / Linda, OK4/18/2008 I ordered the yellow thongs and they are so cute and comfy. I have to wear birkenstocks because of a disability and these were great when I first put them on my feet. I ordered a half size up, because of my feet swelling, and they are fine. Look forward to more unique designs in this brand. They are equal to my regular birkenstocks. THANKS!!!!!
Great style & price / Pat, NC4/17/2008 Order ur regular size. Footbed comfy, little stiffer than regular Birkies. Unique style! But, found "thong" insert for toe stiff, even when wearing in house at 75 degrees. Will sadly return, concerned thong will be uncomfy in 90+ degrees. Be aware that the chain in the front has a lot more "presence" in person than in pic, gives shoe a slight gladiator look. Sorry I can''t keep, loved style& price!
